5:18 p.m.: Fooze Ball

Gretchens engagement partywas a lesson on what happens when you rush into something you are not ready for. Her fianc was laidback and talkative, mingling through the crowd introducing strangers. Gretchen on the other hand looked as though she had just been told she had 15min. left to live. She was running around with a worried and saddened look on her face. She was obviously tired and stressed, so much so that my Mom kept taking her aside and telling her that if she wanted to leave she could provide the getaway car. I just wanted to grab Gretchen and scream in her face You do not have to get married now, look what this is doing to you!!

I got a chance to see what the bridesmaid dresses are going to look like and Gretchen told me she has chosen her dress (not the date or location but the dress) all the while wondering why no one else noticed that my best friend had turned into a headless chicken. My Mom Matt and I stayed for a few hours and then took advantage of being near several Indian reservations and stopped at a casino to do a little gambling. Mom and I ended up losing all our money while Matt cleaned up, doubling his. Of course I gave him several suggestions on things he could buy with the money, all of which were for me, but it looks like he is going to fill a life long dream and buy a Fooze Ball table. He did entertain other ideas for a while and let me take this moment to give a little advice to any men who might be reading this: Do not mention anything about a jewelry store to your girlfriend of over a year if you are not prepared to see it through. Just avoid the subject all together, for your own safety. Matt brought up the jewlery store idea in relation to his recent winnings while we were shopping the next day and then kind of forgot about it. He then had to play twenty questions with me to find out why I was so disappointed looking later that evening. I finally told him and he said that I never pointed out a jewelry store to him that I wanted to go into so he let the idea go * sigh * what, did he think I wasnt interested because I didnt immediately lead him to Tiffanys after he asked about jewelry stores in the area?

Ah well, it is his money and he can do what ever he likes with it. Perhaps he will feel sorry for me though and buy me something pretty when he sees my trying to balance the Fooze Ball table on my finger.
